Project

Sassevaart Sawing

This project was executed in partnership with Sassevaart, with the primary objective being the expansion of a canal sluice located in
Terneuzen, Netherlands. One of the most critical and technically challenging aspects of this project was the development and utilization of a specialized cutting technology. Specifically, we engineered a high-performance saw equipped with diamond blades designed to cut through reinforced concrete flooring. This saw was central to achieving our goal of precisely and efficiently cutting a total of 287 meters of reinforced concrete flooring.

Scope of work:

  • Type of Sawing Work: Cutting of 287 meters of reinforced concrete flooring
  • Saw Blades: Diamond saw blades with an 800 mm diameter
  • Total Length Cut: 287 meters
  • Cutting Depth: 30 cm
  • Reinforcement Nets: Cut through, featuring double reinforcement nets of 40 mm diameter
  • Total Duration: 268.87 hours , of which 146 hours involved two machines. Total combined time approximately 415 hours
  • Cutting Speed: 68 cm per hour for a 30 cm deep cut
